Ceildoor & Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

Here at Ceildoor we are honoured to have supplied our access hatches to Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. W.W.F.C  widely referred to as “Wolves”. The pride of Wolverhampton and its local people.

The orange and black stadium stands proudly on Waterloo Road, in the heart of the city center. The club made this its home back in 1889, drawing crowds together all sharing their love for the game. The Molineux’s name originates as far back as 1744 from a local man named Benjamin Molineux. Mr Molineux purchased the land the football ground was eventually to be built on and the name remains today. Right from the beginning the Molineux began setting standards and paving the way for other FC’S to follow in its footsteps. It was the first ever purpose built ground to be used by a football league club and also the first British club to have flood lights installed into the stadium.

The Rise of the Molineux

During the early 90’s the stadium underwent a multi million pound renovation. This increased its overall capacity to 28,525. Years later the club extended again by adding an upper tier. The new addition to the stadium saw the overall capacity rise to 31,700. In March this year initial discussions to enlarge two of the 4 stands began. The possible enlargements of the Sir Jack Hayward and Steve Bull stands could potentially create a new capacity of a whopping 50,000 spectators.

These are exciting times for the club and its fans. Winning the championship in the 17/18 season and being recently promoted for 18/19. This is the first time in six years that Wolves have been in the premier league.
